In an exclusive report The Daily Mail claims that Oprah has officially axed Lindsay Lohan’s reality show due to poor ratings and “trashy stories” about the star’s sexual behavior, but hasn’t bothered telling her yet.
Winfrey’s OWN network has pulled the plug on Lohan’s reality show after the first season earned poor ratings, but insiders told the Daily Mail that one of the key reasons Oprah decided to drop the show was Lindsay’s behavior on the shows and “leaks of trashy stories about the show and her rumored sex list.”
The premiere of the show earned a third of the ratings the network anticipated, with only 700,000 viewers. Though network execs had scheduled the show for another season, insiders have confirmed that Oprah has decided to “cut her losses” and shut it down, something she plans to tell Lohan next month.
‘Oprah will tell Lindsay later this month that her show won't be reappearing for in the future,’ an insider divulged. 'First and foremost, the ratings were an absolute disaster. It didn't pull in the viewers that Oprah had hoped for.
'Also, Oprah grew tired of hearing about Lindsay and her private life in other media outlets. It became a little worrying when stories about her private life appeared in magazines, while Lindsay never talked about anything like that on the show.
'Leaked stories from those around her also generated what many felt was trashy publicity, which didn't really improve her image or send out a message that her star was on the rise.
'A story about Lindsay's supposed sex list story left many with a bad feelings too. Lindsay did very little publicity for the show either. Oprah kind of expected that, but it would've been nice if Lindsay went some chat shows to talk about the reality show.
'Oprah has cut her losses and said there will be no second season for Lindsay.'
The star's history of unruly behavior and drug abuse have greatly damaged her marketability in Hollywood. Lohan was hoping her new reality show would revitalize her acting career after having been forced to take undesirable roles in low-profile productions and failing to land a lead role in a successful film in a decade.
