President Obama lives by the long-held Democratic mantra of "Never let a crisis go to waste" and he exhibited his allegiance to it wholeheartedly in a cringe-worthy Twitter message calling for gun control by using the story of a young hero who recently sacrificed his own life to save his friends.
On Thursday night in Knoxville, Tennessee, 15-year-old Zaevion Dobson was sitting on a front porch with friends when two gang members walked up on the group and opened fire. Instead of scattering with the others, Dobson reportedly jumped on top of three girls to shield them from the bullets. He was the only one struck and died from a shot to the head.
So, naturally, Obama praised this young man's heroic actions by using the tragedy for policy gain. From the official president Twitter account, Obama wrote:
