Al Sharpton, the man who has made a lucrative career out of talking constantly about race, shared some curious advice while hosting the 25th annual convention of his race-baiting civil rights outfit, the National Action Network. He told a couple of invited guests, "Just don't even talk about race for a while."

This extremely hypocritical advice was aimed at New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio and city Comptroller Scott Stinger. As Politico noted, Stringer had spoken earlier saying corporate boards are "too male," "too pale," and "too stale." Of course, the shot at de Blasio has to do with his "comedy" sketch with Hillary Clinton last weekend in which he made a joke about being late because of "CP time" -- that is, colored people time.

Now, Sharpton obviously targeted de Blasio and Stringer because they are both white, and whites, in the reverend's opinion, don't have a right to talk about race in the same way blacks do. It's a white privilege thing, which Hillary Clinton, apparently, seems to understand fully.

The Democratic presidential frontrunner was also an invited guest to the NAN convention, and fresh on the heels of her involvement in the "colored people" joke -- a flop she blamed on de Blasio -- she addressed (read: pandered to) the crowd to lecture them on doing a better job of being sensitive to the cause of African-Americans:

White Americans need to do a much better job of listening when African-Americans talk about the seen and unseen barriers you face every day.

We need to recognize our privilege and practice humility, rather than assume our experiences are everyone else’s experiences.

My how she's changed her tune since Saturday night! But that's the Left for you, and Sharpton and Clinton are the king and queen of the party's favorite yet unofficial motto: "Do as we say, not as we do."
