Russell Brand, Hollywood's favorite socialist, is at it again! Of course his claims are often misleading or flat-out false, but some of his most recent claims are so far off the beam, they must be addressed.
Russell finds himself in the precarious position of constantly defending Islam, while constantly criticizing conservatives as hateful and/or intolerant. Take his recent attempt at whitewashing terrorist acts in Canada:
RUSSELL: We keep mentioning Islamic state and ISIL, WHY...
The shooter was a terrorist; he tried to go to Syria, and he was inspired by ISIS. It’s not just "conjecture.” We know that. Period.
Okay, Russell wants to defend a group of people from unfair generalities, I can dig it.
RUSSELL: The guy... also has mental health issues... and a minute later he starts smashing the place up... I'd say mate you're mentally ill. Stop smashing the place up.
Wait, did he just make an unfair generality? Because I work with special needs people… and most of them are non-violent, entirely peaceful, happy people. Mental health is not a constant.

Quran (8:12) - "I will cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve. Therefore strike off their heads and strike off every fingertip of them"
Quran (8:39) - "And fight with them until there is no more fitna (disorder, unbelief) and religion should be only for Allah"
Quran (9:30) - "And the Jews say: Ezra is the son of Allah; and the Christians say: The Messiah is the son of Allah; these are the words of their mouths; they imitate the saying of those who disbelieved before; may Allah destroy them; how they are turned away!"
Quran (33:60-62) - "If the hypocrites, and those in whose hearts is a disease, and the alarmists in the city do not cease, We verily shall urge thee on against them, then they will be your neighbors in it but a little while. Accursed, they will be seized wherever found and slain with a (fierce) slaughter." )
That’s the point. The constant here is not the Canadian government, it’s not mental health issues, it is the Qur’an. It is Muhammad, sexism be upon him.

I don’t know; how about we start with the right to vote, freedom of speech, women actually being protected from rape and domestic abuse, things not protected by the Islamic religion or legal system with which you constantly create a false moral equivalency?

Not evil like Islam of course, but crazy extremists like Tracy Burns from FoxBusiness, see, because that woman right there, a learned economist with a masters in business management from Rutgers holds different views than Russell's on issues like supply-demand economics and legitimate purviews of government. Therefore, she is the evil extremist. Not the followers of a religion that legally allows for the beating of women and hanging gays.
Russell also goes on to proclaim that the Oklahoma City bombings were ignored... because Timothy McVeigh was white and that it couldn't be transitioned into a war for oil. Yes, really.
For the record, a mere Googling of Timothy Mcveigh literally yields hundreds of thousands of results. The Oklahoma city bombing is actually the most media-covered terrorist attack of all time outside of 9-11. Even more troubling is that Russell actually had to strain to reach all the way back to 1995 to support his argument while simultaneously wading through the Islamic terrorist attacks committed at an average of five per day. It’s almost as difficult as entirely using FoxNews as his source for rebuttals while painting it as representative of the mainstream media.
Sidenote: Am I the only one who finds it incredibly ironic that a Hollywood celebrity, most above all else recognized for his foppish, ultra-manicured, micro-managed, sexually ambiguous look, is criticizing society for its dive into shallow, narcissistic approach to current events? His shtick is almost as disingenuous as his fake laugh. Is that a laugh or does he have Ebola?
The man goes on to end his videos by demanding that people "not get caught up in celebrity speculation"... clarifying that his Youtube channel is the only source one can trust. The irony’s so rich it’ll give you gout!
