Al Sharpton is promising a bumpy ride for President-elect Donald Trump.
Speaking with TMZ, Sharpton said the election didn’t turn out like he had planned but said the nation will survive like it has before. The reverend said Trump’s victory was built on “divisiveness and bigotry” and he laid out his plan on how the left is going to fight Trump to keep President Obama’s 8-year legacy intact:
“He can rest assured, we’re not going to take our foot off the pedal. He is going to have the fight of his life.”
The interviewer asked for comment on celebrities vowing to move to Canada if Trump was elected and Sharpton said it wasn’t serious and simply said “in jest.”
“We’re not going anywhere,” he assured.
Back on Trump, Sharpton added:
“Mr. Trump better saddle up. He’s got a lot he’s going to have to deal with. He promised a wall, he promised jobs, he promised he was going to do this, that, and the other. Well, he’s going to have to deliver for his crowd while he fights our crowd. His crowd will turn on him in three months. He can’t deliver half of what he said. I guarantee it.”
We’re not sure you can take that to the bank.
