Sanders As Hillary's Veep?

Oldest VP ever!

Would Bernie Sanders consider taking a job as Hillary Clinton's running mate? That was the question put to Sanders by Wolf Blitzer on Friday's edition of CNN's The Situation Room.

On Friday, the socialist senator told Blitzer that his focus is the next five weeks and the race to the convention, predicting he can win many of the remaining nine states. Sanders believes that he can win upcoming contests in West Virginia, Kentucky and Oregon. Yet asked if he would consider being Clinton's running mate, Sanders would neither confirm or deny that if such an offer were made, he would accept:

"Right now, we are focused on the next five weeks of winning the Democratic nomination. If that does not happen, we are going to fight as hard as we can on the floor of the Democratic convention to make sure that we have a progressive platform that the American people will support. Then, after that, certainly Secretary Clinton and I can talk and see where we go from there."

Currently, Sanders has no way of winning enough pledged delegates to win the Democratic nomination. There is a chance, however, that Hillary Clinton could fall short of the 2383 delegates she needs to secure the top spot, which would set up a showdown in Philadelphia in July.

On Friday, Sanders maintained his vow to stick it out to the end. "We're going to be in this until the last ballot is cast."

The Freedom Center is a 501c3 non-profit organization. Therefore we do not endorse political candidates either in primary or general elections. However, as defenders of America’s social contract, we insist that the rules laid down by both parties at the outset of campaigns be respected, and that the results be decided by free elections. We will oppose any attempt to rig the system and deny voters of either party their constitutional right to elect candidates of their choice. Sanders is predicting that he will win in West Virginia, Oregon and Kentucky.
