Rachel Maddow Overhyped Show Promising to Reveal Trump's Tax Returns Totally Flopped

It was a giant nothing-burger on the scale of Geraldo Rivera's "Capone's vault" debacle, only not as entertaining.

As everyone knows, President Trump never released his tax returns, even though other candidates repeatedly asked for them. Apparently, he's the first President since the Watergate era to refuse to make his taxes public. He claimed he was under audit by the IRS, and wouldn't cave to the public's demands.

Then, MSNBC's Rachel Maddow announced that she had a portion of his 2005 returns.

Immediately, the hype started building and continued until the broadcast of her show.

At nine o'clock, viewers tuned in for the reveal... only to discover that Maddow is one of the most incomprehensible, boring people in the world. In twenty minutes of rambling, she talked about Richard Nixon, showed photos from what looked like Instagram, repeatedly mispronounced others' names, showed photos of yachts, and basically drove the internet crazy.

Of course, not every American was anxiously waiting for Trump's tax returns to be revealed. This tweet pretty much summed up the radical polarization that has occurred in this nation...  at least partially because of the media's breathless determination to shame our President.

In the end, Maddow's "reveal" was a giant nothing-burger on the scale of Geraldo Rivera's "Capone's vault" debacle, only not as entertaining.
