Mika Brzezinski Calls on DNC Chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz to Resign

Why should Sanders "politely get in line"?

MSNBC's Mika Brzezinski, the liberal counterpart to co-host Joe Scarborough, made a surprising announcement Wednesday when she called for the resignation of Democratic National Committee chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz.

Brzezinski cited the chairwoman's "unfair" treatment of Hillary Clinton rival, Sen. Bernie Sanders, as reason for the call to step down.

"This has been very poorly handled from the start." Brzezinski said:

"It has been unfair and they haven’t taken him seriously, and it starts quite frankly with the person we just heard speaking. It just does. You know that."

Scarborough agreed, asking rhetorically why Sanders would just "politely get in line" to support the Democratic Party after the way he has been treated during the debate process.

"Because Hillary Clinton‘s people said so," Brzezinski quipped.

The two co-hosts then agreed that if they were Sanders, they'd tell the Party to go "straight to hell" and run as an independent.

Brzezinski concluded that at this point, Wasserman Schultz should just "step down."
