By this point, you've no doubt seen the infamous "cat call" video shot in New York City. If you haven't, you need to, as it's gotten thirty five million plays. Nothing in a micro-political mid-term has been anywhere near as popular in American culture.
Firstly, let me cover my bases and state that some of the cat calls are entirely inappropriate and shouldn't be tolerated. So if we can all agree on that, can we also all agree that a significant portion of them were incredibly complimentary?!
“Cat calls” like…
“Hey, you have a good night, darling”
or
“God bless you, miss.”
Or the unbelievable…
“Hey, Beautiful!”
The humanity! Also, it's important to note, that these cat calls made the under two minute highlight reel gleaned from over ten hours of footage. So this girl was literally scraping the bottom of the barrel with “Have a good night, darling.” If someone had really stepped over some boundaries, you can bet that you’d have seen it.
Therefore, in this week’s social experiment, I took a hidden camera to the mall, where I “cat-called” women galore. I even went one step further and complimented strange women on their attractive features.
Watch the video to see just how women in real life react to public compliments, in contrast to their neo-feminists counterparts who unfairly get so much unwarranted time on television.
SPOILER ALERT: Real women like compliments!
What happens when we take a hidden camera and "cat-call" real women?
