With an immigration crisis on the border and mounting questions about the effectiveness of his foreign policy, President Barack Obama's approval ratings are at an all-time low. One thing Obama has proven adept at, however, is raising money- or at least attending fundraisers. According to the Washington Post, Obama has attended more fundraisers at this point in his presidency than any other President in history- and it isn't even close:
So far, he’s ahead of the pace of George W. Bush, who had been to 26 events at this point in 2006. In his two presidential terms combined, Bush hosted 318 fundraisers. Obama has already smashed that number with 393 events to date.
As the article notes, in his first term, Obama held 321 fundraisers, more than any of his predecessors. Ronald Reagan, by contrast, attended only 80 in his first term.
