Trump's Approval Trumps Obama's

A higher approval rating than Obama at the same time in presidency.

You wouldn't know it from the nonstop parade of bad news stories and the focus on polls of approval ratings that show President Donald Trump failing miserably, but the only ongoing national daily tracking poll on presidential approval shows Donald Trump is currently ahead of where Barack Obama was at the same time in their respective presidencies.

Rasmussen Reports polls 500 likely American voters each night and releases a daily tally of the most recent three nights. Their polling on this issue goes back more than a decade.

The latest daily tracking poll shows 48% of likely American voters approve of President Trump's job performance while 50% disapprove. That rating puts President Trump a full four points ahead of where then-President Barack Obama was on February 8, 2010.

The Rasmussen poll from that day showed 44% approved of President Obama while 56% disapproved, including 41% that strongly disapproved.

Other polls released by Rasmussen this week show public opinion on a number of other issues is also at odds with the media narrative.

A poll released today shows that 50% of likely voters believe that "senior federal law enforcement officials broke the law in an effort to prevent Donald Trump from winning the presidency." Meanwhile 58% of those polled said they believe that the United States is winning the war against ISIS, up from 47% last September.
