Donald Trump was slated to announce his vice-presidential pick on Friday morning but put off the campaign event in wake of the terrorist attack in Nice, France that killed more than 80 people. While he didn't appear in public, Trump did confirm his pick on Twitter.
I am pleased to announce that I have chosen Governor Mike Pence as my Vice Presidential running mate. News conference tomorrow at 11:00 A.M.

The pick had been leaked out, likely in a planted story with ABC News, ahead of the terrorist attack. Political campaigns will often plant stories to generate excitement. Once the pick was known Trump could hardly keep the news under wraps but also didn't want to be seen campaigning while the terror attack was at the top of the news cycle.
Hillary Clinton is already attacking the Indiana Governor as a radical unfit for office. Like Trump, Clinton took to social media to attack Pence.

Clinton also attempted to fundraise off the choice of Pence, sending out Tweets, emails and more asking people to "chip in" to keep Trump and Pence out of the White House.
