Tim Allen Thinks Conservative Fans Might Revive Canceled Hit Sitcom 'Last Man Standing'

And maybe with partial thanks to Roseanne Barr.

In May, ABC canceled one of its highest-rated sitcoms, Last Man Standing, starring funny man Tim Allen. The network said it was simply “re-thinking” its Friday night comedy lineup but most figured it had something to do with Allen being a vocal conservative and the fact that he played one on the television show.

Allen’s fans were also quite vocal in sharing their displeasure that a rare, family-friendly show with a conservative angle was taken off the air. But according to the star himself, their response might be bringing the show back.

"The support from all the fans to bring back 'Last Man Standing' is truly overwhelming to me and so appreciated," Allen said to Fox News in an exclusive statement. "I, along with the talented writers, wonderful crew and terrific actors would definitely entertain the idea of bringing the show back as there is so much gas left in the tank, more to be said, and laughs to be had."

The revival of Roseanne, with Roseanne Barr playing a Trump supporter as she is in real life, can be credited for renewed calls to ABC to bring back Last Man Standing.  The network has yet to respond.

Allen added, ”I know fans would love nothing more than for us to take the cover off, fire up the engine, back this car out of the garage and get it back on the highway, full-throttle. My sentiment sits in the front seat beside you."
