Stephen Colbert’s New Project Lampoons ‘Our Cartoon President

"No one is safe."

Coming to Showtime in February is Our Cartoon President, the brainchild of executive producer Stephen Colbert and Chris Licht, who is executive producer on CBS’s The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.

According to TV Line, the first episode will air less than two weeks after President Trump delivers his second State of the Union address. Our Cartoon President is slated for 10 episodes and “follows the Commander-in-Chief, his family and advisors over the course of their misadventures on a run-of-the-mill, ‘quintessentially Trumpian’ day in POTUS’ life,” says Licht.

Showtime says “no one is safe” in the series and promises to skewer “key political figures from both parties and members of the media.” We shall see who gets it worse, though.

In the teaser trailer above, we’re introduced to an extremely orange and out-of-shape president who can barely make it down the White House hallway to speak at a podium. Perhaps cartoon Diet Cokes and Big Macs have had a much bigger impact on Trump's cartoon health than we first realized.

Remember when Colbert trotted out his anti-Obama cartoon on Showtime eight years ago? Yeah, we don't either. That 's because it didn’t happen. Wonder why.
