South Park Expertly Trolls Redskins Fans

It appears to only have aired in DC.

Comedy Central ran an ad during Sunday's Washington Redskins and Philadelphia Eagles game previewing the upcoming season of South Park. The ad only appeared in the Washington DC market and contained a scathing satirical look at the non-controversy over the Redskins' name and their recent battle to retain copyrights of the name and logo.

The Huffington Post - one of the publications working overtime to make a controversy over the name where polls clearly show no one really cares - describes the ad:

The commercial shows Cartman running a business under the Washington Redskins name now that it's no longer a protected trademark as a cartoon version of Snyder demands that he stop "in the name of decency." The "South Park" version of Snyder also calls Cartman's use of the team's name "offensive" and "derogatory."

"I have total respect for you," Cartman insists. "When I named my company Washington Redskins it was out of deep appreciation for your team and your people."
