Al Sharpton is not happy with Florida Governor Rick Scott (R) for failing to mention Trayvon Martin in his State of the State address on Tuesday.
Also missing from the speech in Sharpton's estimation were the terms "stand your ground," "self defense," "Jordan Davis" and "Marissa Alexander," all of which Sharpton saw as "glaring omissions."
State Senator Chris Smith (D-Ft. Lauderdale) agreed saying he was "very disappointed" in Gov. Scott's decision not to offer condolences to or mention the families of those in Florida affected by "Stand Your Ground" laws. Smith said it was a lack of compassion and leadership and was bothered that Scott has been writing Obama about international affairs in Venezuela but not paying attention to issues involving his Florida constituents.
The two men, along with Trayvon Martin's parents, Tracy Martin and Sybrina Fulton, are expected to attend a rally in Tallahassee, Florida's capital, on Monday, March 10th, to protest "Stand your ground."
