The Left is applauding Democrat Sen. Cory Booker’s eviscerating outburst against Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen. They called him passionate and powerful. But if you watch the video, it looks like an angry man is using his powerful position to publicly shame his female subordinate. That’s supposed to be a no-no, but the Left is giving Booker a pass on this one.
That’s because she is defending President Trump and claims she didn’t hear him use the term “shithole” when referring to Haiti or Africa. Ignoring her account of what happened, Booker proceeded to berate Nielsen with wild gestures and pointed words accentuated by bangs on the table.
“Your silence and amnesia is complicit,” Booker screamed. “I hurt. When Dick Durbin called me, I had tears of rage when I heard about his experience in that meeting. And for you not to feel that hurt, and that pain, and to dismiss some of the questions of my colleagues, saying, ‘I’ve already answered that line of questions,’ when tens of millions of Americans are hurting right now because of what they’re worried about what happened in the White House. That is unacceptable to me!”
According to Feminism 101, men are not allowed to yell at women, nor use their power as a means to coerce or intimidate. But that’s what Booker did here and without apology, and the Left is eating it up. No sexism complaints; no support for Nielson who endured a man’s wrath; no solidarity hashtags like #ShePersisted, nothing.
Nothing but “thanks” to the junior New Jersey senator for putting a woman in her place.
Watch above.
