Seattle Lawmaker Would Consider $35 Minimum Wage

"Why stop at $15 an hour?" - Ben Shapiro

On The Ben Shapiro Show Friday, TruthRevolt's Ben Shapiro interviewed Joshua Koritz, the assistant to socialist Seattle Councilwoman Kshama Sawant, who admitted that they would consider a $35 minimum wage if it was on the table.

Sawant, who has pledged to move Seattle's City Council to the left, is feverishly working to raise the minimum wage for the city to $15 per hour. But Shapiro asked Koritz:

Why are we stopping at $15 an hour?… Where exactly does Councilwoman Sawant draw the line and why $15?

Speaking for Sawant, Koritz responded:

So, $15 is a number that was brought up by fast food workers and as such seems like an amount that will allow a lot of people to greatly improve their lives. We don't set a maximum wage in this country and I would support workers -- all workers -- getting more than that.

Here is the conclusion of the segment:

Shapiro: Would she support a measure in the City of Seattle to raise minimum wage to $35 an hour?

Koritz: Is that on the table?

Shapiro: Sure, why not? She's on the city council, why wouldn't it be?

Koritz: Well, if it is, we would talk about it.

Shapiro will debate Sawant about minimum wage on April 9 in Seattle.
