Schultz: Hannity and Beck GOP "Fanboys"

Ed Schultz attacked Glenn Beck and Sean Hannity in his "Pretenders" segment.

Not only did Ed Schultz attack Glenn Beck and Sean Hannity in his "Pretenders" segment on Wednesday's The Ed Show, but the MSNBC host featured Hannity in his "Ask Ed Live" segment as well.

The MSNBC host has a daily ritual where he calls out people who disagree with him politically or who he thinks are "pretending". On Wednesday's show, he decided to take on Hannity and Beck, dubbing them the "Dynamic Duo."

Introducing an audio clip of Glenn Beck from Tuesday's Sean Hannity Radio Show, Schultz said,

Holy smokes we got a double whammy here! Glenn Beck and Sean Hannity! The Beckster joined Sean Hannity on his radio show to dispel a vicious rumor... word on the street is that they are Republicans!

Schultz then played an edited segment of Beck and Hannity discussing how they're conservatives and not Republicans. Ed then sarcastically led into video of Sean Hannity interviewing former President George W. Bush and Glenn Beck telling Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI) "I love you!" After the video Schultz smirked,

No way is Sean Hannity and Glenn Beck Republicans! No way! Sean Hannity and Glenn Beck don't like to 'kiss n tell' what a shame! They have such a beautiful relationship with the Republican party don't they? Especially when the Heritage Foundation spends money on Hannity's radio show!

Hannity has never been secretive about his working relationship with the Heritage Foundation. Unlike Ed Schultz, who keeps his pay check from the AFL-CIO under wraps, Hannity has long talked about the Heritage Foundation as a sponsor, and both Hannity and Heritage often have ideological differences and debate with many Republicans in leadership in Washington, D.C.

Schultz then ended the segment saying,

If Glenn Beck and Sean Hannity want us to believe they're anything but GOP fanboys, they can keep on pretendin!

Earlier in the show, during the "Ask Ed Live" segment, Schultz took a question from social media that asked if Hannity would ever "man up" and debate him. Schultz responded that it wasn't an issue of Sean's "manhood" but that Hannity was "absent of ideas."

Schultz probably never read Hannity's NY Times bestseller, full of political solutions and ideas, "Conservative Victory 2010." And, he must not be listening "three hours a day every day" to Hannity on radio and then watching him on TV on the number one rated Fox News Channel for other ideas Hannity has.

For the rest of the program, a social media feature on the bottom of the screen with comments from Facebook and Twitter featured Schultz fans attacking Hannity and Beck for being "tea partiers" and "fascists."
