Scarborough Rails Against Liberal Bias: 'Name One Republican in Major Media Position'

"You can't do it."

On MSNBC's Morning Joe, host Joe Scarborough held nothing back in a rant about the lack of Republican or conservative figures in top media positions for the last fifty years.

When Mark Halperin of Bloomberg Politics stated that the moderators of both Republican and Democrat debates should be objective journalists, Scarborough objected to the very notion of objective journalists. He challenged Halperin, and anyone else on the show's panel, to name a single Republican, outside of Brit Hume, that has held a powerful position in the network media:

"All I am saying to you, and you can't do it, and nobody here can do it, is name the single Republican that has hosted a Sunday news show, that has been the anchor of a news network for the big three networks over the past fifty years. You. Can, Not. Do. It."

Halperin repeatedly declared that he agreed, but that objective journalists can be found. Scarborough retorted that they can't:

"They're ALL Democrats. The people that run the Sunday shows are ALL Democrats. I'm not just talking about today - I'm talking about for the last fifty years. The people that run the nightly newscasts have been ALL Democrats. The news executives have been ALL Democrats."
