Reporter to Trump: Is America Great, Yes or No?

Watch Trump's answer

Donald Trump has been taking heat lately for his campaign slogan, "Make America Great Again." Thursday he was asked if he thought America was great.

"Are we great — yes or no? " the reporter asked.

"Our country will be great again," Trump said, "but right now, our country has major problems..

Trump was pushed to expand, "Is America not great right now?" he was asked.

"Our country could be doing much better," Trump said. "We have deficits that are enormous, we have all bad trade agreements, we have an Army that the head says is not prepared, we have a military that needs help, especially in these times."

Trump went on to decry the state of America's nuclear arsenal, pointing to a 60 Minutes report from last fall on the crumbling state of those weapons.

"Our country doesn't work. Everybody wins except us."

Marco Rubio recently took shots at Trump; The New York Times reporting on Rubio's comments in Nevada:

"There’s one other candidate running, he says he’s going to make America great again," Mr. Rubio told a crowd of about 200 people at a community center here. "I understand what he means by that. I don’t mean that as a slight."

"I would remind everyone America is great," Mr. Rubio continued. "There’s no nation on earth I would trade places with. There’s no other country I would rather be. The issue is not that we’re not great. The issue is whether we will remain great. The issue is, we can be even greater than we are now. We can be even more prosperous, more powerful."

Trump responded to Rubio's comments by calling the Florida Senator, "Bush's plebe." Rubio may be campaigning against former Florida Governor Jeb Bush now but learned politics under Bush when they were both involved at the state level.
