Planned Parenthood Offers ‘Pizza Parties’ for Clinics Meeting Abortion Quotas

“It sounds kind of crazy, but pizza is a motivator.”

Ex-employees of Planned Parenthood say they were offered incentives for meeting monthly abortion quotas that included extra vacation days, lunches with upper management, and even “pizza parties” for individual offices.

Pro-life group Live Action released its latest video in a series that seeks to expose the abortion giant for selling America a bill of goods on what they actually do, which as it turns out, doesn’t appear to be much in the way of “women’s health” or “prenatal care” as they claim.

Speaking with a former manager at a Storm Lake, Iowa, location, Live Action learned that each clinic has monthly goals for how many abortions it wanted performed.

“Centers that didn’t do abortions, like mine that were family planning clinics, had a goal for the number of abortion referrals,” said Sue Thayer.

Thayer said they used to have a large grid on the wall that was color-coded to help keep track.

“We were really very goal-oriented,” she added, before revealing that they often talked the women into abortions “before they left our clinic” like high-pressure salesmen:

“We would say things like, your pregnancy test, your visit today is X number of dollars, how much are you going to be able to pay towards that?

“If they’d say, ‘I’m not able to pay today,’ then we would say something like, ‘Well, if you can’t pay $10 today, how are you going to take care of a baby? Have you priced diapers? Do you know how much it costs to buy a car seat? Where would you go for help? There’s no place in Storm Lake — or whatever town they were in — you know, where you can get help as a pregnant mom. So really, don’t you think your smartest choice is termination? We can take care of that and set it up for you.’”

“It sounds kind of crazy, but pizza is a motivator,” Thayer added.

Marianne Anderson, a former nurse at a clinic, said she felt she had to “sell abortions” and was pressured from management to stay on top of the quotas in order to “keep this clinic open.”

Live Action president Lila Rose added this commentary to her video:

“Planned Parenthood doesn’t have quotas for adoptions. It doesn’t have quotas for prenatal care. But quotas for abortions? Absolutely.

“Planned Parenthood makes a profit off women in the midst of their most difficult experiences and incentivizes its staff to take the lives of children in the womb with pizza parties, paid time off, and lunches with upper management. It’s time to redirect our tax money toward local health clinics that actually provide real care to women, instead of to Planned Parenthood, a corporation focused on upping its abortion numbers.”
