Nancy Pelosi's office lied about accepting an apology from U.S. Rep. Tom Marino after Pelosi breached House protocol during a recent debate on immigration. As Marino told Politico, Pelosi crossed over to the Republican side of the House floor "wagging her finger and saying that I was a liar" after Marino wondered why the immigration issue wasn't addressed by Democrats when they controlled the House, Senate and White House from 2008-2010. 

For her part, Pelosi's office characterized the incident as having a conciliatory ending. 

Pelosi’s spokeswoman Evangeline George responded to the incident with a statement Friday, saying, “With the clock ticking to a Republican vote to deport DREAMers, Leader Pelosi just wanted to remind the Congressman that House Democrats had the courage to pass the DREAM Act — and have the courage to stand up for what the American people want: bipartisan, comprehensive immigration reform. What have Republicans done? Leader Pelosi accepted the Congressman’s apology.”

The only issue with that statement is that, according to the article on the dispute, Marino's office "has not offered and does not intend to offer an apology."
