You want to hear something funny? Whoopi Goldberg said Democrat Jon Ossoff’s loss Tuesday night to Republican Karen Handel wasn’t a loss but really a win.
As the ladies over at The View arrived at work charged up over yet another devastating blow against Democrats, Goldberg arrived ever the optimist, or better, preferring life inside her own personal bubble.
On Tuesday evening, in the most expensive campaign for the House in history, the young Ossoff couldn’t pull off a victory and lost to Handel, who received 52% of the vote in Atlanta, Georgia.
“You can say it’s a loss. I don’t see it that way,” Goldberg said. “I see that Democrats are coming out. And they’re not coming out in perhaps the numbers you want them to come out in.”
“I’m saying I’m not looking at this as a loss,” she added. “I’m looking at it as slow progress.”
Joy Behar, on the other hand, was a little less optimistic and correctly concluded that it appears as though Democrats can’t win under President Trump.
“I don’t think people are going towards the Democrats in enough numbers at this point, and it’s a problem,” Behar said.
