When questioned by 60 Minutes interviewer Steve Kroft Sunday about Russian President Vladimir Putin challenging American leadership in the Middle East, President Obama took great offense and explained his take on leadership, reports Breitbart:
“My definition of leadership would be leading on climate change, an international accord that potentially we’ll get in Paris."
Leading on climate change. Putin must be snickering loudly about that one. Obama then proceeded to dig a deeper hole for himself:
"My definition of leadership is mobilizing the entire world community to make sure that Iran doesn’t get a nuclear weapon.”
Making sure Iran doesn't get a nuclear weapon? Is that what he thinks he accomplished? Apparently Obama is confusing "leadership" with "capitulation."
But back to his leadership on climate change. Breitbart notes that Obama has boasted previously about it. Last month during a meeting with Chinese President Xi at the White House, Obama said,
“The historic climate change announcements that we made last year in Beijing have encouraged other countries to step up, as well, increasing the prospects for a stronger global agreement this year."
Also last month, during his United Nations speech, Obama again pushed the idea of climate change success as the pinnacle of leadership:
“No country can escape the ravages of climate change and there is no stronger sign of leadership than putting future generations first. The United States will work with every nation that is willing to do its part so that we can come together in Paris to decisively confront this challenge.”
