On MSNBC's Live with Katy Tur Tuesday, Representative Jackie Speier expressed an absurd concern: that the President "is systematically trying to shut down every possible branch of government but the Presidency.”
The segment, titled "Trump vs. FBI," began with Tur asking Speier a bizarre question regarding the President's tweeted criticisms of the FBI as related to the Bureau's investigation of the President's 2016 campaign: was she concerned that President Trump would attempt "witness tampering?" Speier then made her statement.
Tur's response? Crickets. Conclusion: the ridiculous assertion is, in fact, reasonable.
Furthermore, continuing the Left's attempt to rally the American people against the President via ludicrous claims, the California Democrat called Trump a wannabe "tyrant" who is undermining the country's foundation:
“This is the conduct of someone who could become a tyrant if we don't step in and speak out against him. I think he is being so unpresidential and he is undermining the very foundation of this country and the institutions that we hold so dear and that are protected in the Constitution of the United States.”
Of course, Trump's excoriation of federal entities at times is hardly tantamount to undermining the government. Furthermore, these are strange words from the Left, considering their mantra of "criticism of the government is the greatest form of patriotism." We guess the maxim only applies when it's used against Republicans.
