MSNBC Panel Grovels Over Obama

Joy Reid, Chris Matthews, David Corn and Howard Fineman sing Obama's praises after MSNBC interview.

Chris Matthews welcomed Joy Reid, Howard Fineman and David Corn at the end of today's Hardball to find out their thoughts about his softball interview with President Obama.

All of the panel gave Obama glowing reviews, and when asked for their final points they could not contain their adoration for the president. All three commentators raved about what they saw as Obama's persistence and "legitimate" frustration at what he is working on and how Republicans are trying to stop him.

Said Howard Fineman:

As soon as you mentioned Pope Francis, the president kind of remembered, yet again, why he is dealing with all the complexities that he has.

Matthews interrupted saying,

As opposed to what Rush, Rush Limbaugh said when he heard... Rush Limbaugh called him a Marxist the other day!

Fineman continued,

It's one thing to say 'change you can believe in' but making change is hard!

Poor President Obama... actually changing things for the better is so hard. Maybe that's why he reminded the audience of how bad President Bush left things when he was elected president... back in 2008!

David Corn wrapped up the sycophantic panel segment with this gem:

I saw a president that remains frustrated with political media culture that he has to work within, and he's really looking to rally people, students here and supporters and people within the media...

Matthews responded,

David Corn you skeptic! He came to us today! He came amongst us!

Oh wow, Obama lowered himself to be among the little people? That's how Matthews views it. What Corn failed to recognize is that Obama has plenty of supporters in the media, especially at MSNBC.
