Former Fox News host Megyn Kelly has found a comfortable new home over at NBC, fitting in quite nicely next to the other leftist hosts. On Thursday, she launched a diatribe against guns as melodramatic as that of any of her colleagues. 

Kelly started off with a bang, so to speak, spouting the media’s favorite, yet erroneous, statistic that 18 school shootings have occurred in the first 45 days of 2018. The source? Everytown for Gun Safety which counts every discharge of a firearm on school grounds as a "school shooting." That includes accidental discharges from officers that result in zero injuries, stray bullets from surrounding crime-ridden neighborhoods hitting school grounds, and even BB guns shooting out bus windows. What happened in Florida on Wednesday has not happened 18 times like the fear-mongering media allege.

“There have been at least 12 — at least 12 — school shootings in America so far in 2018,” Kelly stated emphatically. “It’s February 15th. We’re averaging one just about every three or four days. How are we doing, America? Everyone okay with that?”

No need to answer because Kelly does it for the viewer: “Apparently, the answer is, in fact, ‘yes’ because we haven’t done virtually anything to stop it.” 

Kelly goes on to smear the politicians who lack the “courage” to “push through reform.” After another moment of dishonesty, claiming 300 "school shootings" since Newtown, she repeated the Left’s favorite manipulation: “If 20 dead first-graders don’t spur people to action, what will?”

“And then there are the guns,” she continued, getting more emotional. “Don’t even think about it. Don’t even think about it. No gun reforms are getting through. They’re not! And most of the ones that will be proposed in the wake of this shooting will be utterly meaningless and wouldn’t have even arguably prevented this killing. The NRA is too powerful, our politicians are too weak, and the guns are too ubiquitous.”

Kelly turned to her audience to ask them to guess how many guns there are in America. Again, she answered her own question, correctly telling them over 300 million with about 6 to 10 million of them AR-15s like the one used in Florida. Now, she didn’t take time to consider that out of those many millions of rifles in existence, only one was used in a mass shooting yesterday. Instead, she amped up the emotionally-charged rhetoric:

“In the meantime, I and other parents have to send our kids to school and play Russian roulette with their lives.”

Kelly was at her most unhinged when she said it’s time to get “honest,” to “give a damn,” and “to maybe take that $25 billion” projected for President Trump's wall and “redirect it toward this problem.” Her buddy Geraldo Rivera suggested that, she indicated.
