Listen to CSULA President Conspire with 'Traumatized' Students to Censor Conservative Speakers

College - where diversity means uniformity.

In the wake of a speaking engagement at California State University at Los Angeles by Ben Shapiro, at the invitation of the college's Young America's Foundation, school President William Covino led a public "healing space" meeting - you read that right, a healing space - to discuss how to prevent further trauma to liberal sensitivities from such conservative speakers.

Check out the short video below of a snippet from the May 17 discussion, which features Covino declaring that he would "never, ever have invited" someone like the conservative firebrand Shapiro.

It includes comments from a Professor Melina Abdullah, Dept. Chair of Pan-African Studies, who called Shapiro a "neo-Nazi": "I get that he's Jewish, so it's ironic that I'm calling him a neo-Nazi, right?" Wrong, Professor, it's not ironic - it's grotesque.

Abdullah actually became overwhelmed with emotion as she describes how students come to her "feeling traumatized, right? Feeling brutalized - physically, emotionally, and mentally."

She didn't explain how Shapiro's mere presence at the school, which prompted violent protests, brutalized her students in those ways, but hey, universities exist today to provide safe spaces for the permanent victim class, shielding them from ideas that don't match the Progressive narrative.

President Covino went on to suggest that criteria should be in place that would prevent speakers like Shapiro from further traumatizing the children at CSULA - because they are children, not students. Students study. Students learn. These privileged college attendees see themselves as oppressed activists, not students. They're not there to learn - they are there to make demands from usually cowering administrations full of leftist activists who created these little monsters in the first place.

An unidentified student asked President Covino if the Young America's Foundation was going to be allowed to put on any future events. The answer should have been a straight up, "Of course." But Covino admits to entertaining the idea.

Another student actually asked how Covino would prevent guns from coming on campus if YAF held any future events - as if conservatives are the ones bringing violence to university campuses. It's the leftist activists nationwide who are waging violence against conservative speakers, and that is the way it has always been. Liberal speakers need no bodyguards or campus security; they have nothing to fear from conservative students and everyone knows it. But the Narrative must be perpetuated that the right is violent and intolerant.
