Leftists Demand Revolutionary War Reenactors Use Sticks Instead of Guns

"Can you see 12 men in full regalia and another 12 charging with wooden sticks saying ‘Bang bang!’?"

California leftists were triggered literally and figuratively by the idea of revolutionary war reenactors using guns to reenact a battle for our freedom. Why? They wanted the reenactors to use sticks.

The Elk Grove Historical Society has been planning the mock battle, which is similar to events they've held in the past, for more a year, but had to cancel the educational event because they planned to use guns. Leftists in the area wanted them to hold sticks and pretend they were guns. Honestly.

Jim Entrican, facilities manager for the group and president of the Native Son of the Golden West in Elk Grove, told CBS Sacramento it was "frustrating":

"It’s just frustrating, very frustrating,”

“They actually asked us if we can use wooden sticks, and can you see 12 men in full regalia and another 12 charging with wooden sticks saying ‘Bang bang!’ It just doesn’t have the same effect."

They have never been denied a permit before, despite local gun laws. Since this is an educational performance, they are allowed an exception. Now, however, they are looking to change the ordinance so they will not even need to ask for one in the future.

The bigger problem, Entrican said, is that people are trying to stifle history lessons. “History is important and we’re losing it."
