L.A. School Board Members 'Take a Knee' Before Pledge of Allegiance

“I hate what is happening in this country to the black and brown folks, to the women, to the transgendered."

As TruthRevolt reported yesterday, the “take a knee” movement has moved beyond sports into Hollywood. Now, it's gone beyond entertainment in Los Angeles and into the left-wing educational establishment.

When the Pledge of Allegiance was recited prior to a Los Angeles Unified School District school board meeting on Tuesday, some attendees actually knelt in protest, LA School Report says, including Cecily Myart-Cruz, Vice President of both the National Education Association and the local United Teachers Los Angeles.

“I had to do it because of the climate of the country, and I will continue to do it,” Myart-Cruz said, adding that the decision to bend a knee was hers alone and not related to the unions. “It is about racism, and in public spaces, I will be doing what is right.”

She went on to say, “I hate what is happening in this country to the black and brown folks, to the women, to the transgendered. It must stop.”

It's odd, then, that Myart-Cruz is campaigning for an Hispanic man, Ref Rodriguez, to lose his position on the LAUSD school board position (he's already lost his chairmanship) over what some are calling a “rookie mistake” having to do with campaign donations.

We're sure it has nothing to do with the fact that he supports charter schools, right, Ms. Myart-Cruz? Total coincidence.
