This week on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Kimmel asked his guest Caitlyn Jenner about whether his political views have evolved since November. “Do you regret voting for Donald Trump?”
“I don’t agree with everything he’s doing," Jenner replied. "But... I’m older, I grew up in a country when you actually said the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag at school... I believe in limited government. I believe in the people of this nation, not government." That, he explained, meant he'd be classified as a Republican, though he "never really outwardly came out and supported him [Trump]. I supported whoever the Republican candidate was going to be, but the press kinda puts you there.”
Jenner then said Trump has done some good things, to which Kimmel incredulously replied, "Like what?" Jenner appreciated the nomination of Neil Gorsuch to the Supreme Court and how Trump is decreasing regulation on businesses.
However, he's occasionally been a vocal critic of Trump, especially as it pertains to gay and lesbian issues. After Trump rescinded federal protections that allowed transgender students to use either bathroom, Jenner was furious and struck out against the President on social media.
However, he seems to have relaxed in his criticisms recently, and his fans seems to appreciate it. Watch the interview below:
