The Western world's most gender-indeterminate leader, Canada's Justin Trudeau, set a new low for politically correct, linguistic stupidity Monday when he corrected a young woman for saying "mankind," urging her to use "peoplekind" instead.

At a town hall event in Canada, a woman from the World Mission Society Church of God was in the process of complaining to Trudeau about "the policies that religious charitable organizations have in our legislation." She urged that the policies can be changed "because maternal love is the love that is going to change the future of mankind. So we’d like you to --"

Trudeau interrupted to say, “We like to say 'peoplekind'? Not necessarily 'mankind,' because it's more inclusive.”

Peoplekind? Not even humankind? Peoplekind isn't even a word. Trudeau must have just made it up on the spot to signal his Progressive enlightenment.

As any halfway-decently educated person knows, the word "mankind" does not denote only men and exclude women. It derives from an Old English word that referred to all members of the human race, regardless of their sex, and that is the sense in which we still use it today. For anyone who still fears being raked over the coals by social justice warriors for using it, "humankind" is a safe, acceptable substitute. "Peoplekind" is just plain embarrassingly stupid.

Apparently Trudeau wasn't joking, either; or at least, his audience assumed he was not, because many in the youthful crowd, including the woman he mansplained to, inexplicably burst into cheers in support of his plea for "inclusiveness." That's right - instead of guffawing, they actually cheered.

“We can all learn from each other,” Trudeau hastened to add amid the applause.

 Canada is doomed.
