Since Arizona's controversial new law allowing businesses to refuse service to gays and lesbians for religious reasons garnered national attention, it was only a matter of time until Jon Stewart chimed in on the matter as seen on The Daily Show Wednesday night.

In a segment titled Gay Ban, in reference to the sunglasses Ray Ban, Stewart began saying:

I had the not realized the extent to the which the good, pious peoples of Arizona have been subjected to the tyranny of Arizona's, of course, still illegal gay wedding industry. let's hear from one of gentlemen who voted for this bill.

A news clip then relayed CNN's Anderson Cooper interviewing Arizona Senator Al Melvin about the new law. Cooper asked Melvin if he could cite any specific examples where business owners were "forced to do something against their religious belief or successfully sued because of their faith." Melvin simply responded that the bill was preemptive, obviously in reaction to the recent lawsuit in New Mexico where a photographer was forced to photograph a same-sex wedding. Stewart opined:

This a slam-dunk veto. What governor in their right mind would sign this piece of sh*t?

A news clip then relayed of Arizona Governor Jan Brewer saying she will contemplate the bill before signing or vetoing later in the week. Stewart stated:

Clearly the Governor is bi-curious on this bill. If you are going to sign it, you might want to hurry, because the lawmakers who voted for the bill are starting to realize what the f*ck they just did.

Another news clip then showed Cooper interviewing an Arizona lawmaker who regretted his decision to vote for the bill, saying he didn't quite know what he was getting himself into. Stewart stated:

Of course they're having second thoughts because the bill they passed was morally repugnant as I assume everyone now realizes.

Stewart then played several news clips highlighting the unintended consequences of the new law, such as Muslims being permitted to refuse service to Christians or Jews and loss of state revenue from lack of tourism. Jon Stewart continuously criticized these excuses, because he saw the law as "morally repugnant" and should've been rejected on those grounds alone. The coup de grace came when Stewart highlighted the NFL would pull next year's Super Bowl from being played in Arizona if the bill became law. Stewart stated:

This is where you are now Arizona. You've made yourselves too homophobic and dickish for professional football, according to the NFL, our new watchdog of gay rights.

None of the reasons that you have cited -- the fact that maybe Muslims could use it against us or, oh my god, people may not want to do business with us -- have nothing to do with morality, but with so many good reasons not pass it. How did it get this far in the first place?

Jon Stewart then pointed his cross hairs onto his favorite target, Fox News, and managed to somehow accuse them of ginning up religious peoples' fear of having their freedoms attacked, citing examples like the "War on Christmas" and various news stories about militant secularism.
