Jon Stewart Challenges John McCain To A 'Wrong Off'

On Tuesday, Jon Stewart of The Daily Show proved once and for all he cannot take the slightest bit of criticism without resorting to schoolyard tactics. In response to comments made by Senator John McCain accusing the comedian of being both "unfair to Republicans" and "absolutely wrong" on most issues, Stewart challenged McCain to come on his show for a "wrong off."

What is a wrong off? According to Stewart, a wrong off is when the two compare and contrast their records of "absolute wrongness" to see who comes out on top. No prizes for guessing whom Stewart thinks will come out on top.

"Tell you what," Stewart said with a smirk, "you come on the program loaded down with your Jon Stewart was absolutely wrong file, and I'll see if I can perhaps dig up one or two you've been mistaken about."

Shortly thereafter, a beeping cargo truck sounded in the background implying Stewart has piles of "wrongs" he can "unload" on the Senator.

Okay, fine, John McCain's an easy target; conservatives might even be happy to join in on the bashing, but Stewart's decision to attack John McCain exposes Stewart's moral weakness: In response to criticism, he'll resort to simply being snarky.

Other public figures have taken shots at Stewart this past week, most notably, Mark Levin, who leveled some serious charges against Stewart for mocking Israel's recent defensive measures and calling the terrorist organization Hamas "freedom fighters." Unlike McCain, Levin's accusations weren't just nonchalant asides; they were full-blown charges of moral depravity. Will Stewart invite Levin on his show for a "wrong off?" No prizes for guessing!
