Jon Stewart Lashes Out at Republicans, Media in Iraq Rant

Shames media for giving airtime to those who have been “wrong about the whole f*cking thing,” rips “Johnny Rotten Judgment” McCain, and, of course, blames Bush.

Jon Stewart launched into another one of his scripted attacks on Republicans Monday, blaming Bush and blasting the media for allowing conservative pundits who he argues have been “wrong about the whole f*cking thing” to opine about the crisis in Iraq. “Johnny Rotten Judgment” McCain earned the host's special ire, Stewart characterizing his foreign policy strategy as “Be everywhere — forever.”

Like so many pundits on the left, Stewart attempted to divert any blame for the current crisis in Iraq to the GOP, offering a heavy dose of Blame Bush and Rip Republicans, and conveniently ignoring the role Democrats (like Hillary Clinton) played in the original invasion and Obama’s glaring missteps that helped pave the way for the rise of the ISIS/ISIL insurgency.

During his rant, Stewart knocked conservative pundits, particularly Senators Lindsey Graham (R-SC) and John McCain (R-AZ), giving the latter the title of “one of the wrongest” of the wrong. Saying that with all the media appearances, “you’d think [McCain] just won Dancing with the Stars."

Stewart said that McCain has constantly been criticizing the president on his staged withdrawal of troops from Iraq, but never seemed to mention that Bush had signed the original Status of Forces Agreement that required the withdrawal:

“What? Only a secret Muslim Kenyan terrorist vegan is shrewd enough to ensure our defeat before he ever took office by Jedi mind-tricking ‘Patriot Man.’ Actually, for him you don’t actually need to use the Jedi mind trick. You just kind of wave your hand.”

Having blamed Bush for the whole debacle and worked in a predictable slight on his intelligence, Stewart targeted McCain’s foreign policy strategy, which he argued amounted to perpetually meddling in every country:

“The John McCain military plan for America is the same as the John McCain media strategy: Be everywhere — forever.”

Responding to the rant on Twitter, Laura Ingraham highlighted the glaring absence of Obama's role in Stewart's take on the meltdown in Iraq, asking, "What abt media/comedians who got supporting Obama wrong?":
