The mainstream media is abuzz ever since President Trump called Sen. Elizabeth Warren — who claimed to be Cherokee Indian — “Pocahontas” during a ceremony honoring Navajo veterans of the Second World War. Warren herself actually called it a “racial slur” and the team over at Morning Joe agreed.
Host Joe Scarborough unleashed a tirade claiming that Trump saying “Pocahontas” sent a coded message to white nationalists (via Newsbusters):
“I don't think this is about Elizabeth Warren any more than I think his battle against NFL players is about Colin Kaepernick. It's not. It's about anybody who’s not a white Anglo-Saxon Protestant. They have -- everything’s coded. So, oh, we’ve got Native Americans here. Well, instead of praising Native Americans, because they don’t want… the most racist elements of my base think I’m going to go soft, I’m gonna make a racial, uh, joke… and sort of hop the balloon so anybody doesn't think I'm not associated with the Steve Bannon wing and the white nationalist wing of this movement.
“[B]ecause he would not joke that way if it were a group of white soldiers. He just wouldn't. And it -- and I’m, you know, I'm the last to go out and throw the race card down on the table, but it is so obvious. He attacks the NFL, because… and we saw it also with the UCLA players. It's always sort of poking and prodding and making jokes and making attacks at the expense of people who are not white.
“Donald Trump continues to play to his lowest base… the worst angels among all Americans and… even if you’re in a ceremony or an event and you’re not white, then chances are good he’s going to find a way to insult you. Not to insult you specifically, but to just remind his white nationalist base, [smacks lips] still with you here."
It didn't seem to bother some of the Navajo code talkers:
Not that the media has taken notice. Warren unapologetically LIED about her heritage and the MSM is dead quiet about that. Instead, they’d rather pummel Trump into the pavement with these endless musings and ignore the fraud that is Fauxcahontas. Thankfully, not everyone is fooled. Here’s some important points completely ignored by the fawning media, courtesy of David French at the National Review:
My favorite Elizabeth Warren story involves a cookbook. Warren, who was at that time posing as a trailblazing Cherokee, actually contributed recipes to a recipe book with the name, I kid you not, “Pow Wow Chow.” But here’s the best part of the story. She plagiarized some of the recipes. Yes indeed, her version of “pow wow chow” came directly from a famous French chef.
My second-favorite Warren story involves breastfeeding. She once claimed to be the first “nursing mother” to take the New Jersey bar exam, making her, I suppose, the Jackie Robinson of lactating lawyers. The problem? There’s no evidence this is true. Women have been taking the New Jersey bar since 1895, and the New Jersey Judiciary was “not aware” whether they tracked the nursing habits of test-takers.
Warren is a bit of an academic grifter. She’s willing to fake her way to the top. When she came to Harvard Law School, she was — believe it or not — considered by some to be a “minority hire.” She listed herself as a minority on a legal directory reviewed by deans and hiring committees. The University of Pennsylvania “listed her as a minority faculty member,” and she was touted after her hire at Harvard Law School as, yes, the school’s “first woman of color.”
Anyone in the media interested in talking about any of this? Anyone? Bueller?
