Huckabee Casts Stones At Carson Over Questions About His Past

'‘Lord, I thank you that I am not like this mother hammering brain surgeon.'

Former Baptist minister Gov. Mike Huckabee had no mercy to spare for Dr. Ben Carson on Monday during an appearance in the lion's den on MSNBC. Speaking with Mika on Morning Joe, Huckabee essentially scolded Carson for being vulnerable to attack, and for not being tough enough to handle it. He also exalted himself, pharisee over tax collector, by extolling his own virtues, albeit in what one might generously characterize as a "humorous" way.

"I've written 12 books, I assure you they've all been put under incredible scrutiny," says Huckabee. He says that he was taken aback by Carson's complaint, because this is what you expect and "this ain't beanbag.' Then He gives the money quote.

I will go on record today and tell you this today, Mika: I never hit my mother with a hammer, and I never stabbed anybody. Never wrote about it either. So there you go. At least I’m on the record about that.

Well lah-dee-frikkin dah.

As noted at The Right Scoop, most of Carson's fellow candidates haven't tried to toss him under the bus. Not even Jeb Bush. Huckabee joins Trump in turning on Carson, going with the tide of the mainstream media instead of against it. Maybe he thinks he can shore up his abysmal polling numbers via Morning Joe? If so, seems like he's the one who has a thing or two to learn about politics, not Dr. Carson.
