It’s not like Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) needs any help defending herself against Bill O’Reilly’s James Brown comparison. After all, she is, by her own admission, “a strong, black woman” and “cannot be intimidated.” But that didn’t stop actress Sharon Stone from offering an embarrassingly low-budget spoken word poem in the long-time congresswoman’s defense using similar lyrics to the Godfather of Soul’s Say It Loud, I’m Black and I’m Proud.

Interspersed with clips of Waters during various appearances, Stone can be heard saying, “Say it loud, she’s strong and we’re proud.” The actress posted the video to Instagram, crediting Shelly Goldstein for the lyrics and giving a nod to James Brown and Alfred Ellis, a saxophonist and Brown’s co-writer on Say It Loud, I'm Black and I'm Proud.
