Carly Fiorina may not be from Indiana -- she was born in Texas, once called California home, and now lives in Virginia -- but that didn't stop the folks at the Indianapolis Star from getting excited by her potential VP nomination being announced in Indiana.
According to the Indy Star, Indiana is a perfect place for announcing a VP nomination:
The Hoosier State has had a bevy of veeps. State Road 9 is even known as the Highway of Vice Presidents because it connects the hometowns of former vice presidents Dan Quayle (Huntington), Thomas A. Hendricks (Shelbyville) and Thomas R. Marshall (Columbia City).
Two other Hoosiers also served as vice president — Charles W. Fairbanks from 1905-09 under Theodore Roosevelt and Schuyler Colfax from 1869-73 under U.S. Grant.
The paper said that once Fiorina touches Indiana soil the locals will claim her as their own.
