On Sunday's State of the Union, host Candy Crowley asked former President George W. Bush about his family's relationship with the Clintons and asked for a prediction
if his brother Jeb ran against Hillary in the 2016 presidential election.
Bush has often considered Bill Clinton a "brother from another mother," so Crowley wondered what that makes Hillary.
"My sister-in-law," Bush joked.
When Crowley paired his "sister-in-law" in a presidential race with real-life brother Jeb, Bush assured her that his brother would definitely beat Hillary.
Both are formidable, Bush said, but there is no question in his mind that Jeb would win. Crowley said, "So you'll take that bet?" Bush shot back, "Absolutely. Of course you're not going to make it because you're an objective newscaster."
Bush added that Hillary has a "new complicating factor" in her decision to run because she is a grandmother. Both Crowley and Bush agreed that "being available" is the most important part of being a grandparent, and that will certainly be a factor in Hillary's decision on whether to pursue a bid for the presidency.
"Jeb and Hillary are going to make very considered judgments," Bush said. Jeb is weighing the decision based on the impact a presidency would have on his own family.
