President Obama recently sat down with former basketball player and current TNT analysts Charles Barkley for an interview, which will air during the pregame coverage of the All-Star game broadcast on TNT.
In its article about the interview, Politico managed to tout Obama's credentials on something other than the traditional topics a President might tackle:
The president is a noted sports fan, regularly displaying his knowledge of football, professional and college basketball and baseball, as well as talking about his chances to watch ESPN.
He also sat for a pregame interview for the Super Bowl earlier this month, a tradition he does every year with whichever network is hosting the NFL championship. The president has also thrown out the ceremonial first pitch at the Major League Baseball All-Star Game and on Opening Day.
Barkley has supported Obama in the past, as well, including dissing his 2012 presidential opponent Mitt Romney during a broadcast.
