Natalie Maines of the 'Dixie Chicks' informed her Twitter followers this weekend that she is 'ashamed' Senator Ted Cruz is American. Maines also gained attention from similar comments in 2003, when she told a her audience in London she was ashamed President George W. Bush was from Texas.
Maines elaborated saying that Cruz claims to be American, a reference to Cruz opponent Donald Trump suggesting Cruz might not be eligible to run for president.

The last studio album from the Dixie Chicks was released in 2006.
