Democratic Colorado State Rep. Crisanta Duran (Denver) tweeted a joke about buying a gun that is a case study in the left’s double standards. If Duran were a Republican, no doubt the left would take to the airwaves to paint her statement as a reckless promotion of violence and an indirect threat to her opponents.

As Twitchy points out, Sarah Palin was actually blamed by some on the left—most prominently Piers Morgan—for the shooting of Rep. Gabby Giffords because of Palin’s “target”-themed website, which included among other politicians an image of Giffords.
