CNN's Don Lemon accused critics of the Bowe Bergdahl POW exchange that led to the release of five, high-level Taliban terrorists of hypocrisy Tuesday night on his primetime broadcast.

“The reaction to (Bowe's) release from enemy capture Saturday has been odd, to say the very least,” Lemon said. “That military mantra of, you know, ‘no man left behind’ that we’ve heard so much since 9/11,” Lemon said. “We haven’t heard so much of it in the last few days from many who openly supported going to war in Afghanistan and Iraq and claim to support the troops.”

Lemon didn't seem to get so worked up about the "leave no man behind" mantra and its application to the tragic events in Benghazi on September 11, 2012. Instead he used his editorial segment, "Don's Take," to preach that only Bowe Bergdahl knows if he is a deserter:

"Why are we so concerned, right now, with how Bowe Bergdahl went missing rather than how his life was saved. Listen, I don't know if Bergdahl was a deserter. I don't think anyone knows, for sure, but him. And unless and until he says so, to me, he’s still an American, a war veteran, a sergeant, who does not deserve to be left behind.”

So, according to Don Lemon, no one can know what's truly in Bowe Bergdahl's heart and whether he truly is a deserter despite all of the first-hand accounts of his fellow soldiers, who, by the way Mr. Lemon, are also Americans, war veterans and deserve to be heard. Even more ironic, in the past, Lemon has not afforded such benefit of the doubt to other figures in the news. Just ask Donald Sterling. Lemon had a pretty good idea what was in his heart.
