The CIA has released hundreds of thousands of documents, photos, and files recovered from Osama bin Laden's compound in Afghanistan in 2011. According to the Long War Journal, this cache gives us our first look at son Hamza bin Laden as a young man, a 228-page handwritten journal by Osama bin Laden in which he, according to Long War Journal, shares his thoughts on how he can capitalize on the 2011 Arab Spring uprisings. These documents also confirm that he was very much in control of Al Qaeda when US Forces took him out. 

There are new details in these documents about bin Laden's relationship with Iran which Long War Journal categorizes as "concerning," in which Iran offers Al Qaeda “everything they needed,” including “money, arms” and “training in Hezbollah camps in Lebanon, in exchange for striking American interests in Saudi Arabia and the Gulf.” In terms of Pakistan, there will still be a need for further analysis given the multiple competing factions in that country. 

Among these files, there were some other things of note. The terrorist leader had an image file called assss.jpg, a video of British comic figure Mr. Bean (dubbed into the Pashto language), cat videos, Tom & Jerry Cartoons, the viral video of "Charlie Bit My Finger," and several "Art of Crochet" tutorials (baby crochet sock edging, spring rose, radiant crochet butterfly, and radiant crochet flower). I guess it was pretty boring hiding out.
