CA Teacher Caught on Video Insulting U.S. Military

"They're dumb sh*ts. They're not high-level bankers. They're not academic people. They're not intellectual people."

A Southern California high school teacher has been caught on cell phone video disparaging members of the U.S. military as "dumb sh*ts" and “the freakin’ lowest of our low” in a classroom rant to students.

Fox News reports that a student who wishes to remain anonymous shot the video on January 19 during a government class at El Rancho High School in Pico Rivera. He started filming when history teacher Gregory Salcido started berating another student who was wearing a Marines sweatshirt. Salcido questioned why military recruiters were allowed to visit the school.

“We don’t allow pimps to come into the school,” Salcido says on the video ( he is heard on the video but not seen).

Then he rants about our military being stupid and incompetent, losing in Vietnam and Afghanistan.

“Think about the people you know who are over there,” Salcido can be heard saying. “Your freakin' stupid Uncle Louie or whatever. They're dumb sh*ts. They're not high-level bankers. They're not academic people. They're not intellectual people. They’re the freakin’ lowest of our low.”

"I was very angry," the student said. With good reason. “It was so disrespectful to my dad and my uncles and all veterans and those still in the military,” he said. The student said his father and  two uncles were Marine vets who fought in Afghanistan, Operation Desert Storm, and Vietnam.

A post on Facebook with videos of the rants is going viral. WARNING: language alert.

Listening to this profanity-laced, inarticulate blather, you have to wonder how someone this hateful and uneducated manages to become a teacher, much less dares accuse members of the military of being "dumb sh*ts." Astoundingly, Salcido is also a Pico Rivera city councilman and was once even mayor.

District Superintendent Karling Aguilera-Fort reportedly said Salcido would be disciplined.

Salcido himself posted a statement on his personal Facebook page Friday after attending a musical in New York:

“The Salcido 3 just got out of an excellent musical, “The Band’s Arrival,” he said. “I turned my phone back on to unexpectedly see a storm. I don’t think it’s wise for me to make any specific comments, but I want my friends, family, and students to know we are fine and we respect the rights of free expression for all individuals.”

You can also accept the consequences of your "free expression," you anti-American dumb sh*t.
