Two illegal aliens have come up with a fantastic idea. Both Alex and Daniela Velez, who were featured in a DACA segment on CNN, said they will leave the United States if the Trump administration ends amnesty for Obama’s Dreamers.
“Alex and I are both over this,” Daniela, 24, said. “If DACA ends, I will leave with Alex. I will close my business, leave work and school.”
CNN’s report added, “Should Alex, who is 19, find herself unprotected, she said she is clear on what her plan will be. ‘I will leave. I will leave America as soon as possible,’ she said. ‘I want to be able to leave on my terms. I’m not going to be waiting for anyone to come for me.’”
It sounds like Mexico likes this idea. Foreign Relations Secretary Luis Videgaray said if DACA recipients came back, “that would be a great gain for Mexico and a loss for the United States.”
The biggest question looming, then, is, why wait? Go ahead and leave now. That would save us a lot of time and resources.
As Breitbart noted in its report, nearly one in five Dreamers would end up on food stamps if granted amnesty, and one in seven would seek Medicaid benefits. Add to this the number of illegal aliens that will pour over the border to gain these handouts and the cycle of dependency would never end.
The Velezes are on to something: self-deportation, what a concept!
