On Jerry Seinfeld's "Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee" this week, HBO's Bill Maher took some shots at his fellow leftists, working in an especially sharp jab at the formerly "inevitable" Hillary Clinton.

"Hillary was inevitable in ’08," he told Seinfeld. "And then, somebody newer and younger came along and it happened to her, just like with her husband, somebody newer and younger came along. This poor woman, it keeps happening to her."

Having recently defended Seinfeld against the PC "idiots," Maher also touched on the massive pushback he's faced from his own side because he continues to openly criticize the "intolerance" running through the Muslim world:

MAHER: They used to boo me because I’m the one standing up for equal rights for women and free speech and respect for minorities, free and fair elections. It's not my fault that these are qualities that are more lacking in the Muslim world than any other culture. But liberals saw this for years as an attack on a minority. But the irony is that they were so tolerant, they were tolerating intolerance.

Maher also talked to Seinfeld about the difference between liberal comedians like himself and political liberal comedians, who "stay within whatever the liberal doctrine is" so as not to "upset their audience."

Maher, an outspoken liberal atheist, has made a career of angering people on both sides of the political spectrum. He has increasingly come under fire for his frank discussions of Islamic culture, including a particularly "ugly" episode with Ben Affleck.

Seinfeld, meanwhile, has recently taken some flak from the left for his criticism of political correctness on college campuses, for which Maher came to his defense.
