Friday night on Bill Maher's HBO program Real Time, the host interviewed New York magazine reporter Gabriel Sherman. During their conversation, Maher began discussing President Donald Trump and his daughter Ivanka. Things got weird fast when he brought up what he described as President's perceived misogyny and how his daughter might help his image. The Daily Mail transcribed what happened:
[Maher] said: "What do you make of Ivanka and her efforts to sort of humanize her father? We see all this misogyny at Fox News, we see it in Donald Trump himself. A lot of us thought, Ivanka is gonna be our saving grace."
The political commentator then took it a step further and mimicked Ivanka performing a sex act on her father.
"When he's about to nuke Finland or something, she's gonna walk into the bedroom and—"Daddy, Daddy…'Don't do it, Daddy,"' said Maher. "Is that how you see Ivanka?" Maher asked Sherman who, red-faced, replied: "No."
Why do liberals insist that the only role a woman can play is sexual? Even when it's in the context of a father/daughter relationship? Gross and disgusting! And this isn't the first time Maher has made this type of joke about the First Family.
Sherman attempted to bring the conversation back to reality when he added, "I think, again, she's on the margins trying to save us—to the degree that she can—but Donald Trump doesn't listen to anybody, including his own family." However, the damage has been done. As if we needed more evidence, we now know exactly how liberal men view conservative women.
Glenn Reynolds made a great observation when he said that a comment like this would've ended Maher's career... if he'd said it about the previous President's family. He concluded by writing, "This is why I’m unmoved by lefty claims that the right lacks decency or humanity."
